Journalists at the 2011 Israeli Opera Festival at Masada and Jerusalem
Approximately 40 journalists from 10 countries around the world will arrive in Israel at the end of this week as guests of the Tourism Ministry to cover the performance of Aida at Masada, as part of the 2011 Israeli Opera Festival at Masada and Jerusalem.
This grandiose and spectacular artistic production at the foot of Masada offers a unique opportunity for journalists to cover a world-class operatic production alongside coverage of the Dead Sea region and the Masada site. In addition, about 100 Israel-based foreign journalists will also cover the festival for their media outlets.
The play’s length is approximately three hours and 30 minutes. Verdi’s grandest opera performed at the footsteps of Mt. Masada with a triumphal march that has never been so impressive. The improbable love story of the Ethiopian princess and the Egyptian army officer will be presented with the majestic mountain as a backdrop.
The Conductor of this Opera is Daniel Oren, the Director is Charles Roubaud, with Soloists: Hui He and Kristine Lewis as Aida, with members of the Tel-Aviv Philharmonic Choir and the The Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion.
